Future Plans After Graduation (an excerpt from a scholarship paper I just wrote)
Post-graduation, I would really love to travel. I would love to be able to explore tons of new cities from Asia, to Europe, to Africa, to South America, and all over the globe! I would document all these parts of the world, photographing the beauties of this world, but also filming the various lifestyles and cultures.
In particular, I am interested in fighting injustice in developing nations. Not only on a local level, but on an international scale, producing long-lasting changes. With the education I receive from Ewha University, I would know which countries to target, to bring global awareness to their issues and problems such as poverty, sex trafficking, and genocide. I would fight this by creating artistic documentaries and also partnering with the entertainment industry, using public figures such as musicians and actors to promote such campaigns. I hope and plan to partner with such people of influence to mobilize efforts against the various issues at hand. With this, I would like to inspire this generation to get involved and truly take action to reduce injustices such as human trafficking and child labor.
Through such moving movies, documentaries, and music, I would like simultaneously inspire the youth and older generation to express their individuality. I believe that everyone should have the freedom to express themselves through various outlets. Whether it be through painting, writing, singing, photographing, dancing, or filming, I believe people should pursue their dreams and passions and have a voice.
Later down the road, I would like to work in a music and film production to create a positive influence through the entertainment industry. I would like to see these people of influence mentored into a place of hope and joy. Instead of having the news filled with depressed and suicidal celebrities, we would have actors and singers filled with hope and love that would carry over to multiple nations. Instead of the hundreds of divorces we see in the media, we would have solid marriages to exemplify true love. I hope to be a woman of influence and change many people’s lives; I have many many big dreams!
